Project Overview

Tri-Core, in partnership with Titan Environmental, was engaged by Gibson Energy to construct a Class II Industrial Landfill site that satisfies Provincial regulatory requirements.

Additional Details

Tri-Core’s landfill and lagoon work exemplify our strengths in large-scale earth moving, tunneling, and the installation of geosynthetic and compacted clay liners with leachate collection systems. This construction project provided a unique opportunity for us to showcase our integrated service model, which combines the surface and underground infrastructure divisions of our business with our environmental construction expertise. 

The scope of work for this project was extensive and included several key components. We constructed an earthen berm, installed de-gassing and de-watering systems, and applied a 60 mil HDPE liner system along with erosion control measures on both the lagoon slopes and floor. Additionally, we installed a gravity inlet intercell and discharge piping system to facilitate land drainage and performed tunneling beneath a provincial road highway to ensure seamless connectivity and compliance with infrastructure requirements.
