2003
Tri-Core Projects is founded by Ron Duncan, John Highmoor, and John Duncan. First project secured: a winter aqueduct job in remote terrain with limited resources and a small crew.
2004
Early project wins include conduit and signal installations at 17 Wing and for Manitoba Transportation & Infrastructure. Equipment fleet begins with used backhoe, trailer, and a 1975 Ford 1-ton.
2005
Breakthrough with $1.1M Manitoba Hydro coal cleanup project at Selkirk Generating Station—no bonding required, leading to increased credibility.
2006
Tri-Core moves into its own shop space on Brookside Boulevard. DAL continues to support Tri-Core as a consulting partner.
2007
Sewer and water division is established. Two full pipelaying crews join. Aqueduct retender awarded, solidifying Tri-Core as an underground infrastructure contractor.
2007 – 2011
Major floodway infrastructure projects with MD Steele: earthworks, rip rap, and bridge scopes valued at $25–30M over four years.
2011
Main Street project with City of Winnipeg presents major challenges; the team unites to fulfill its commitment, cementing a culture of resilience and follow-through.
2015 - 2016
Bi-Pole III Transmission Project: Tri-Core deploys its largest field force to date, successfully delivering scopes in remote and difficult terrain.
2019
Strategic investment made in telecom design-build startup Quantum Utilities.
2020
Tri-Core secures major Utilities Contract with Manitoba Hydro, expanding its presence in high-compliance environments.
2021 – 2025
Indigenous Joint Venture formed for CTI and UBF broadband projects, delivering over 200 km of fibre infrastructure in remote northern communities.
2023 – 2024
Awarded the CentrePort Canada Rail Park infrastructure package—Tri-Core’s largest and most technically complex project to date, valued at $33M.
2024
Tri-Core acquires 100% of Quantum Utilities and integrates it as the company’s dedicated Telecom Division.
