Project Overview
Additional Details
The objective of the project was to isolate and replace contaminated soil, enabling the installation of foundations for future site development. To achieve this, Tri-Core implemented a site-specific traffic and pedestrian management plan aimed at mitigating risks associated with the movement of heavy equipment on and off the site. This plan was crucial in ensuring the safety of the general public during the operations. The scope of work was comprehensive and included various critical elements essential for the project's success, from excavation to careful planning.
Key components of the project included excavation and disposal, where heavy machinery was utilized to excavate, segregate, and stockpile impacted soils for testing and disposal at a licensed facility. Additionally, dewatering efforts treated a significant volume of hydrocarbon-impacted groundwater on-site using an air-sparging system, with the treated water then being tested and disposed of at the City’s wastewater treatment plant. Given the small footprint of the site, meticulous scheduling was necessary to facilitate stockpiling and the sequential removal of contaminated soils.
